Door-To-Door Sales App

The Alder Sales app empowers their door-to-door sales team to efficiently close deals with customers on the move, leveraging the capabilities of their iOS devices. This versatile program encompasses features such as credit checks, document scanning, and seamless e-signature functionality.

Problems

Alder Security aimed to enhance sales engagement within contact centers through the implementation of a video survey capturing both voice and video inputs. Emphasizing user convenience, Alder Security specifically opted for a web-based application, eliminating the need for consumers to download any app and ensuring seamless compatibility across various mobile and desktop devices

• The previous sales application proved cumbersome and perplexing for new hires, particularly within the door-to-door sales team.

• Seeking a streamlined process, the Alder sales team aimed for a straightforward integration of NVR accounts into the standard workflow of security accounts.

Proposed Solutions

• Introduce a dedicated screen during account creation, empowering users to seamlessly opt for either a security or NVR account.

• Streamline the interface by replacing redundant drop-downs with user-friendly text fields.

• Enhance app navigation by eliminating superfluous UI elements, ensuring a more straightforward user experience.

Research

The bulk of my research was conducted internally, engaging with key stakeholders and select door-to-door team members. Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with them was integral to the entire design process.

• Facilitated one-on-one interviews with sales team members to collect valuable insights into their experiences with the previous design.

• Conducted on-site visits to job locations to observe employees utilizing the app in real-time, particularly during the creation of new accounts and the sales process.

• Implemented A/B testing with both stakeholders and door-to-door employees, employing design wireframes and prototypes to refine and validate the user experience.

Findings

Having met the MVP requirements and securing approval from Alder's stakeholders to transition my design prototype to our iOS developer, the revamped UI and UX proved not only functional but also elicited satisfaction from our door-to-door sales team. Throughout the development phase, I maintained an active collaboration with our iOS developer, ensuring a continuous testing process for the new changes and making necessary design adjustments promptly.

Low-Fidelity Wireframes

NVR Addition

In this wireframe, I illustrate the addition of an NVR account option during salesperson account creation, responding to stakeholder feedback to manage security and NVR accounts separately at the beginning.

Credit Check Redesign

In this wireframe, I introduce a pop-up overlay to streamline credit score confirmation, addressing previous confusion. Users seamlessly transition to the pre-installation section for a user-friendly experience.
